#20YearsOfEaston: Visitors Share Their Favorite Memories

Share this post:

As we reminisce on the past 20 years, we’re filled with so many fond memories. From welcoming new stores and restaurants (it’s amazing to think some have been with us since we opened in 1999) to creating fun events that bring the Columbus community together, our fondest memories include watching visitors enjoy all Easton has to offer. Thank you for making us a special part of your own memories and giving us so many reasons to celebrate over the last 20 years.

In honor of our 20th anniversary, we asked our fans to share some of their favorite Easton memories. Here’s what they had to say:

Thank you, Easton, for celebrating mothers on Mother’s Day! Every year, I look forward to having our family picture taken by talented Easton photographers. I cherish all of our beautiful family photos taken by the fountain. What a wonderful, thoughtful way to honor mothers!

My best memory of Easton was celebrating my sister’s 40th birthday cooking at Sur La Table, eating at Kona Grill, watching a movie at Easton AMC and shopping at many stores! We look forward to special lunches, dinners, movies and shopping for the whole family all year. Every holiday is very special with lights and carriage rides, and every trip is a new experience to love.

My daughters had a blast with her friends at the Hello Kitty food truck at Easton!

My fiancé and I had our first date at Easton in 2017 and then we got engaged at Easton in 2018!

Easton is THE place for date night, family outings and a girls’ day out!

Best times are Super Hero day with our children!

We’ve always loved the Easton Pet Parade with our pups and daughter! It’s always so much fun to see all the pets (and kids) in their costumes! This picture was over 10 years ago.

We love bringing our son to Easton. He loved meeting the Easter Bunny and most recently the LEGO men! There is always something fun going on!

Easton has always been an amazing place for not only shopping, but also food and entertainment. One of my favorite times at Easton was shopping for Christmas gifts and seeing all the beautiful lights with my mom when it started to snow. It felt like we were in a snow globe and we had to stop to get some pictures.

Watching my daughter perform with her dance studio on the outdoor stage!

Easton has always meant home to me. I went to Mifflin High School, which is very close to Easton. It was our home away from home. My friends and I always met up there as teens and now we have all of our reunions there. No matter how far away we all move, we always meet back up at our hub.

Ironically, I was recently just thinking about my Easton experience. I must have felt the anniversary in my heart! I was in fourth grade in 1999. I remember the hype, the celebrities and excitement around going to Easton. On weekends, as children, my brother and I would beg our parents to let us run through the water fountain… As a teenager, Easton was where I got my first job, which carried me through my college years at Otterbein University. I now take my two-year-old daughter to Easton. We shop, have family dinners, people watch with ice cream and she even plays in the same water fountain pad that I did as a child! And she has to perform and take selfies on the light up staircase every trip to Easton.

My husband and I have two boys that we adopted. Easton was the first place that we ever met them. We were able to share a meal with them and watch them play. The attached photo is the first day that we met them! Easton continues to hold a special place for us because of this experience. It is often where we go to hang out as a family of four, and we all find things there that we enjoy!

It’s been my number one shopping and entertainment spot since it opened 20 years ago! In addition to shopping, we love to eat and see movies and meet up with friends whenever we can. Every addition just brings more opportunity for us to explore and enjoy as we look forward to the new construction to be finished and reveal even more. The photo shared is from my daughter’s engagement. My husband and I also celebrated our 30th anniversary at Brio!

I have lived in the Easton area for over seven years now. I’ve had many days and nights out with friends making wonderful memories. For two years, I worked at Jeni’s and made many beautiful friendships, including one of my very best friends. From karaoke nights at Adobe Gilas, catching a movie at AMC, or spending WAY too much money on candles at White Barn and Bath and Body Works, Easton has provided endless opportunities for entertainment and happiness… Most importantly, Easton is where I went on my first date with my now boyfriend, and he is the absolute best thing that has happened in my life. Our first date consisted of coffee at Starbucks and ice cream from Jeni’s and window shopping at Crate and Barrel. Easton has been the source of so many memories I will cherish for a lifetime.

The memories we’ve made, and watched our fans make, will last a lifetime. We could not be more excited for what the future holds and can’t wait to witness the memories that will be made over the next 20 years and beyond.
