Female energy is a force to be reckoned with – from the classroom to the board room, women across our nation continually make strides towards equitable representation, opportunities, and treatment. Every woman has a success story within her, but systemic barriers and self-doubt so often stand in the way of her achieving this greatness.
How can we combat these affects right here in Central Ohio? That’s where Femergy® comes in.
Femergy® is a nonprofit that provides girls and women with skills-training to overcome gender barriers in public and private spheres. We exist to help girls and women identify and activate their voice and innate power for social and economic success. Our programs target the core pillars of Education, Leadership, Health, and Wellness to help girls and women develop their whole selves and excel in the classroom, the workforce, and the community.
OUR PROGRAMS
Femergy® hosts four community-based programs, each provided at no cost to participants.
GHRO Your Future: Our flagship program has blossomed from seven students to over one hundred every year. GHRO is an enrichment program for middle and high school girls that targets life skills and social-emotional development. From September – May, our community cohort of 30 girls attend hands-on workshops twice per month that develop their confidence, teamwork skills, intellectual development, workforce readiness, and so much more. Participants are also matched with mentors to help them navigate their academic lives, learn life skills and social competencies, and provide social and emotional support. Through our school-based model, we work with partnering schools to determine their student population’s needs and implement innovative programming to address these areas for growth.
Femergy® Chica Camp: Our five-day summer camp for middle and high school girls is designed to address critical gaps for inner-city girls in education, resources, and personal development. Through recreational activities, girls develop their leadership skills, social-emotional growth, and community enrichment opportunities that enable them to lead healthy lives, plan for the future, and become leaders in their schools and communities.
Femergy® Collective: Femergy® Collective holistically supports women’s personal and professional development through quarterly events focused in the core areas of career, finance, leadership, and wellness. The Collective is designed to advance women’s equity, whether she is entering the workforce, transitioning careers, or planning her retirement.
Femergy® Gives Back: Our service-learning and leadership program brings girls, women, and families together to create a positive impact in our communities. Whether we’re collecting items for Thanksgiving Meal Boxes, planting community gardens, or giving out back to school materials, we’re bringing together individuals, small businesses, local government, and corporations in service of our collective needs.
COMMUNITY RESOURCES
Girls going through adolescence have so many questions and uncertainties – from getting her first period to trying out for sports, there are so many tangible resources that girls need access to in order to feel comfortable and confident. How can she try out for the soccer team when she doesn’t have deodorant or a sports bra? What can she do when goes home and realizes she doesn’t have any menstrual hygiene products?
That’s why we created our Hygiene Closet, a one-stop-shop to cover basic needs for girls and women. We stock items including full and travel-sized body wash, shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste, toothbrushes, loofahs, towels, deodorant, lotion, menstrual hygiene products, hair brushes, and more. We also stock sports bras and other athletic clothing to ensure that any girl that wants to pursue athletics has the supportive equipment to do so.
Girls and women can access the Hygiene Closet by scheduling a tour on our website forthe Femergy® Center. Anyone can support the Hygiene Closet by donating items year-round.

The Center is a restorative space featuring a Zen room, training areas, and creative event spaces that can be used for retreats, meetings, and more.
