Eliminating Food Waste

Did you know that Americans throw out between 30 and 40 percent of the U.S. food supply each year? The U.S. is the global leader in food waste, with Americans throwing out 80 billion pounds of food (approximately 219 pounds per person), equating to more than $161 billion worth of food.

With restaurants and retailers producing thousands of pounds of food waste, we are working with the Central Ohio Food Waste Initiative to become a participant in the Central Ohio Food Waste Action Plan, with the goal of cutting food waste in half by 2030.
