Women’s History Month: Boss Gal

Boss Gal founder Kathy Keeney takes her medical expertise and passion for the beauty industry to help women feel strong and confident.

As a registered nurse, Kathy Keeney spent a decade working in a demanding, fast-paced acute care environment. Now, she uses her medical expertise and passion for the beauty industry to help women feel strong and confident.

Needing a creative outlet from the stressful work in the emergency room, Kathy opened a small studio and began independently providing eyebrow microblading services. After a few months of marketing herself on social media, Kathy was ready to leave the hospital and pursue microblading full time.

As she began offering other forms of aesthetic medicine — injectables, laser treatments, fillers, etc. — her business quickly grew. And in 2019, with four employees, she founded Boss Gal Beauty Bar and opened her Clintonville location.

The brand now has four locations — Clintonville, Powell, Grandview, and its largest location here at Easton.

The Easton location is a sleek and contemporary take on the traditional medi-clinical environment. It features an open-concept facial bar, which allows guests to experience the beauty services as individuals or with a group. There are also private medical treatment rooms. Services range from injectables to hydrafacials, botox to chemical peels, and, of course, microblading. All medical services are provided under the supervision of Dr. Michael J. Glueckert.

In 2022, Boss Gal was awarded a place on Columbus CEO’s list of Top Workplaces with over 50 employees in the Central Ohio area. Boss Gal’s mission is to provide results-driven treatments that help make everyone look their best but, more importantly, feel strong, beautiful, and confident, bringing out their inner Boss Gal.
