With summer finally here and the kids out of school, there are countless things to do in Columbus. Whether you want to soak up the sun or cool down inside, there are plenty of family-friendly activities happening all summer long at Easton. Between our signature events, like Movies by Moonlight and Sounds on the Town, and the various activities our retailers have planned, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. So, say goodbye to summer boredom. Here are five family-friendly events coming up that you won’t want to miss.

Get Crafty at Kids Art Camp at Paper Source

Kids Art Camp at Paper Source is a great, creative way for children to spend their summer mornings. This week-long experience is perfect for junior crafters, where they will be encouraged to discover, design and create with a variety of different materials. Classes run for two hours every Monday-Friday and ages 6+ are encouraged to join. The Easton Paper Source also offers other great workshops all summer long like hand lettering hacks and water coloring workshops. Take Off the Training Wheels at REI

The summer weather makes it the perfect season for family bike rides. Easton REI’s “How to Ride a Bike” event for ages 4-7 offers instructors with activities that help young riders overcome fears and learn important skills. Make sure your child brings their own bike and watch them be training-wheel free for the summer in no time! This event is offered on July 7th from 9am-11am; stay updated on REI’s event page for similar upcoming events.

Create a Special Do’ at the American Doll Hair Salon or Decorate a Delicious Cookie

American Girl announced their newest Girl of the Year™, Blaire Wilson ™, and has plenty of exciting events planned this summer to celebrate. Learn how to create Blaire’s braids on any favorite American Girl doll, as well as learn other tips and tricks for doll hair. You can also stop by on select days during the summer and celebrate by using creative flair to decorate flower, chick and pig shaped cookies.

Activate your Imagination at an L.L. Bean Storytime

“Tent Tales for Tykes” at the Easton L.L.Bean explores a different nature or outdoor theme each session and is followed by related activities, games or crafts. The story times are recommended for children ages 3-6. Parents are welcome to join in the fun or spend time shopping around the store!

Take a Cooking Class at Williams-Sonoma or Sur la Table

Did you know Williams-Sonoma and Sur La Table offer cooking classes just for kids? Watch your children become junior chefs and have them surprise you with their newly learned tasty recipe. Coming up in July, junior chefs have the opportunity to join in on the Crepe Party or make delicious ice cream brownie bowls at Williams-Sonoma

At Sur la Table, young chefs can learn how to make all their favorite summertime foods from scratch during the Kids’ Cooking Series. This 3 or 5-day experience is the perfect way to immerse your child in all things cooking!

Summertime is when family memories are made, and we want to be a part of it all! Whether you are feeling crafty, adventurous or somewhere in-between, Easton has plenty of events to make this summer the best one yet. We hope you will join us for all the family fun!
