Development of a New District underway at Easton Town Center:
$500 million investment in the coming four years represents the largest expansion of the center since the 2001 debut of the Fashion District
As its 20th anniversary approaches, Easton Town Center continues its evolution with a significant expansion that will feature popular local and national retailers, breweries and restaurants, entertainment venues and hotels, plus public event spaces and social gathering areas. Located on 16 acres in the northeast quadrant of Easton Town Center, this expansion will transform the area located between the Town Center and Easton Gateway.
The expansion will exceed $500 million of development over the coming four years and reflects the continuing demand from local and national firms that want to be part of the unique mixed-use environment already created at Easton. It also helps set the stage to establish Easton as a unique and exciting new residential community while also increasing office employment in the number one destination for corporate growth in Columbus and Central Ohio over the past 20 years. Through these expansions, Easton cements its place as the best-in-class example of a live-work-play project in the nation.
Construction is already underway on various components of the expansion including: Infrastructure: Site, roadway and utility infrastructure work is currently underway so customers will notice traffic pattern changes for the coming months.
Worth Avenue/Merchants Row: The existing Town Center will be connected to the new area via the extension of Worth Avenue and the addition of Merchants Row. Vibrant streetscapes with exciting new shopping, dining and leisure areas, such as The Yard and Urban Hearth, will activate the area and ensure that every visit brings a new experience for guests.
The Yard: Easton Town Center currently hosts more than 100 public events in the Town Square and North District Fountain area. To accommodate demand, the expansion will include a public green known as The Yard. The Yard is intended to be a leisure destination for live music and entertainment, events that benefit community organizations and other gatherings. It will be centrally located and surrounded by new eateries, shops and entertainment venues.
Urban Hearth: Located within the core of the expansion, Urban Hearth is an industrial building that has been architecturally deconstructed to create a social space energized by adjacent breweries, restaurants, and entertainment spaces. It is a lively environment to gather, relax and spend time with friends and family around the Hearth, on the patio, or in the alleyway surrounded by an eclectic mix of tenants.
Parking: As part of the new expansion, additional parking will be constructed including two new parking levels to the existing parking garage just north of Macy’s. A new six-level garage will also be added to the area. Together, these structures will add an additional 1,500 parking spaces in the Town Center.
RH, Restoration Hardware Gallery to Anchor Easton Expansion
Easton developers also shared that RH Columbus, The Gallery at Easton Town Center, the bespoke design gallery that “redefines and reimagines the shopping experience,” will anchor the new expansion area. The first RH design gallery of its kind in the state of Ohio and one of only 19 in the country, this acclaimed lifestyle destination will be a striking three-story, 40,000- square-foot freestanding building. It will offer an inspiring and expansive collection of home furnishings in a gallery setting, an interactive RH Design Atelier with professional design services, and a Rooftop Park and Café. RH Columbus is expected to open in 2019.
“RH Columbus is an extraordinary concept and we’re so pleased it will anchor this important next step in the evolution of Easton Town Center,” said Jennifer Peterson, chief executive of Easton. “It is a one-of-a-kind experience and a complete immersion into the RH brand. With the closest RH galleries located in Chicago and Nashville, we are confident this will be a strong draw for customers from throughout the region.”
