In October of 2017, we revealed LEGOLAND® Discovery Center Columbus is coming to Easton in Fall 2018! The unique indoor attraction based on the popular LEGO® brick will begin construction next summer on a brand new $10 million educational play center in Columbus. From LEGO play areas and interactive rides to master classes from the LEGO Master Model Builder and a 4D cinema, there will be loads of LEGO love to discover at Easton next year.
New Holiday Tree
What better way to get into the holiday spirit than with a brand-new 56-foot Christmas tree to illuminate Easton?! In December, we unveiled our new tree that displays a one-of-a-kind light show at the top and bottom of every hour. This new decoration definitely gave us a reason to celebrate the season at Easton!
Curbside Pickup for Online Orders
At Easton, we know life can be hectic, which is why we implemented curbside pickup for online orders! Whether you’re into staying in for date night or just need a break from meal prepping, we compiled a list of Easton restaurants that offer delivery and to-go services to make your life that much easier.
During the holiday season, Easton debuted its BuggE complimentary shuttle - a cool new way to get around Easton Town Center and Easton Gateway. The Easton BuggE guest service can shuttle you and your shopping bags to your car or between Easton shopping locations. Just park once and let the BuggE get you wherever your shopping trip leads! Hours of operation are 12-6 PM on Saturdays and Sundays.
Station Building Renovation
It's been 18 years since Easton’s Station Building debuted in the heart of Easton Town Center. Reminiscent of the train stations of yesterday, the building’s interior has evolved over the years as new tenants were added. In 2017, we began a multi-million dollar refresh that will take advantage of the abundant natural light in the building, update the colors and materials of fixtures and add new flooring!
2017 Change for Charity Recipients
The Easton Community Foundation is a charitable entity that was established by Easton Town Center in 1999. The organization works to donate proceeds from Easton parking meters and parking tickets to designated Change for Charity partners. In January 2017, we announced that we would partner with six youth and family-focused organizations for our 2017 Change for Charity program! Since its debut, the Easton Community Foundation has provided more than $6.2 million in financial support to hundreds of organizations that strengthen the central Ohio community through services and programming in the areas of education, health and social services.
2017 Community Partnership Award from GCAC
Each year since 1984, the community is invited to nominate people and businesses for the Community Arts Partnership Awards. These awards recognize individuals and businesses that support the arts in Columbus. The Greater Columbus Arts Council’s board of trustees reviews the nominations and selects the winners. This year, Easton was nominated by Columbus College of Art & Design in the medium business category for being a strong community partner for the arts, particularly for our relationship with CCAD, which includes commissioned work to design our Easton mosaic bistro tables and the Easton Fashion Award given to the top student designer at the CCAD Senior Fashion Show. At a luncheon recognizing the winners, Easton was awarded the Community Arts Partnership Award which was accepted by our Chief Executive, Jen Peterson and Director of Community Affairs, Ben Tyson.
U.S. MAXI Award
In July, Easton Town Center was awarded its first-ever U.S. MAXI Award by the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC). Known as the most prestigious industry honor, the MAXI Award is a rigorous juried selection process that includes submissions from around the world. A silver medalist within the cause-marketing category, Easton was recognized for its collaboration with The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center – Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and Richard J. Solove Research Institute’s NextGen Ambassador Society to host the inaugural Columbus Mac & Cheese Festival in October 2016.
