Gear up

At Easton, we want to make it easy for you to live a healthier and happier lifestyle. 2018 is the year of gear - workout gear that is! Getting properly equipped with the right workout clothes and fitness accessories is a great first step that will help you get motivated and ready to conquer your goals. Be sure to check out stores like Foot Locker, Dick’s Sporting Goods, and Champs Sports to really look the part. Stores like Athleta and lululemon also host fitness classes that will make staying in shape in 2018 a fashionable and fun affair.

Get active

REI has tons of classes that will make you sweat and teach you something useful, too. No need to be a seasoned outdoorsman or woman, because many of REI’s classes are styled for any and everyone who wants to join. They also host classes year-round, which can be a refreshing change of pace from your usual gym routine. Check out their website for the full list of available classes!

If you’re looking for a workout that makes sweating fun, consider visiting CycleBar at Easton—the nation’s leading indoor cycling studio. They have plenty of fun, themed workouts set to a number of different musical genres, as well as more traditional cycling classes. Check out their list of upcoming rides here.

Another great way to stretch your muscles and give your body a good workout is with some CorePower Yoga! With 3 levels of heated vinyasa, a challenging sculpt class, lavish changing rooms and a full retail boutique, this exercise experience is like no other. Eat healthy

Once you’re outfitted, it’s time to start eating right. As the saying goes, “put good in, get good out.” Stores like Zest Juice Co., Northstar Café, Kona Grill, and Bibibop Asian Grill are happy to help you put that phrase into action. And if you’re looking to bring those healthy eating habits into your home, Easton tenants such as GNC, Costco, Trader Joe’s and Whole Foods Market are well equipped to help you accomplish that goal.

Ask MomE

What are your New Year resolutions? Do you have any goals for living a healthier lifestyle in 2018? How do you stay motivated for more than just a few months?

My New Year resolution for 2018 is to stay hydrated! I’ve invested in some cute water bottles and am going to start tracking how much water I drink daily to keep my motivation going through the year.

With a family to take care of, finding time to work out is far from easy. What tips do you have for squeezing in a quick workout?

A brisk walk – all bundled up – is the best way to get some quick exercise. Whether you just take a trip down the street, or a walk around the block if you’re feeling ambitious, it’s a fun and easy way to get some steps in during a busy day.

Getting your husband to eat healthy with you is one thing, but getting the kids on board is a whole different story. What suggestions do you have for getting the whole family to follow healthy eating habits in the winter?

Delicious soups can be a way to get kids to eat healthy in the winter. Explaining the benefits of healthy eating to my daughter has worked for me. It’s less of a battle and more of an educational opportunity.

Bouncing off of healthy eating, do you know of any family activities that can get the family moving during winter?

Making a snowman in the front lawn, followed by a snowball fight, is a ton of fun and a great form of exercise.

Ask TrendE

What are your New Year resolutions? Do you have any goals for living a healthier lifestyle in 2018? How do you stay motivated for more than just a few months?

My goal is to focus on a healthier lifestyle overall. It’s all about those extra steps you take at the office, drinking more water throughout the day and being more aware overall about your well-being.

Most of us want to be comfortable when we work out, but looking good is always in the back of our minds. Where do you go for your workout clothes and accessories?

Lululemon and Athleta are two of my favorites. They each have a variety of options for tops and bottoms - whatever suits your style, they’ve got it (including pants with pockets)!

On a related note, what workout gear is a must-have in your gym bag?

A good headband and hair tie are necessities. I always keep my yoga mat with me; they’re so versatile! I use it for yoga, stretching, exercises with a medicine ball and so much more.

What do you do to stay in shape during the colder winter months? Are there any particular exercises you enjoy?

I’m not one for running, so I enjoy spin classes for my cardio. Barre is great for getting a defined muscle and mixes in portions of weight lifting.

Tell us how you plan to stay in shape this year in the comments below!
