Get Ready For the 7th Annual Rally for the Ranch!

The 7th Annual Safelite AutoGlass Rally for the Ranch will be here before you know it! If you love rare, historic and exotic cars, come check out this one-of-a-kind car show on July 28 from 11 AM – 3 PM in the North District.

This annual event benefits The Buckeye Ranch, an organization dedicated to restoring hope and providing healing services for children and families in central and southwestern Ohio. We spoke with Rachel Levine, Development Manager at the Buckeye Ranch, to give you the scoop. Here’s what she had to say:

What is The Buckeye Ranch and what do they do?

Since 1961, the Buckeye Ranch has provided treatments and support services to children and families who struggle with mental, emotional and behavioral challenges in Ohio. Our mission is to restore hope and provide healing to these children and their families through a comprehensive network of treatments and continued support. We are one of the largest private mental health agencies dedicated to the treatment of youth, and we treat more than 4,500 children and their families every year! The Buckeye Ranch provides a wide array of programs and services through high-quality individualized care, which focuses on the strengths of each child and family.

How did Rally for the Ranch get started?

Nick Rees, the Buckeye Ranch President and CEO, and Bobby Rahal, American former auto racing driver, team owner and the founder of the Bobby Rahal Foundation, are the ones who thought of it. They were both brainstorming different ways to collaborate to help our organization, and Rally for the Ranch was born! This will be my fifth year with Rally for the Ranch, and it’s amazing to see just how much it has grown. Over the past seven years, we have raised more than $2.1 million for the children and families who deal with mental, emotional and behavioral challenges.

Give us a run-down of the Rally for the Ranch events happening July 26, 28 and 29.

We start off with a banquet on Thursday, July 26, at Hollywood Casino to welcome our guests and honor a racing legend. This year we are thrilled to welcome, and honor, Danica Patrick! Our past honorees have included Johnny Rutherford, Al Unser Jr., Rick Mears, Bobby Unser, Dario Franchitti and Tony Kanaan. The banquet has a silent auction and a live painting that we auction off at the end of the night. It’s a really fun event, and tickets are still available!

Next comes the big car show, which is on Saturday, July 28 from 11 AM – 3 PM throughout the North District. What’s so unique about it is we have approximately 130 rare, historical and exotic cars that line the streets of Easton Town Center. In fact, we’ve had single cars that were valued at over $3 million there! This event is also very family-friendly and free to the public. We love to celebrate all different types of cars, and there’s definitely something for everyone.

For the last day of Rally for the Ranch, we head to the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course on Sunday to watch the races. If you are a table sponsor at the banquet, you automatically get two VIP tickets, but we welcome and encourage everyone to join us at the track for general admission. There are plenty of things to do and see. If you’ve never been to a Mid-Ohio race before, this is definitely one to go to because there’s a variety of races that take place throughout the day.

How do donations at the car show work?

During Rally for the Ranch at Easton, there will be a Buckeye Ranch table at Easton located near the Central Park Fountain between Smith & Wollensky and Tiffany & Co. where people can donate. You can also click here to donate online. All of the proceeds go to the general support services that we provide to the children and families who are clients of The Buckeye Ranch. We’re hoping to raise $500,000 this year!

Why should people come and support Rally for the Ranch and what does it mean to work with Easton?

Easton has been a fantastic supporter of ours throughout the history of this event. We really value our partnership and enjoy being involved with Easton and our community through Rally for the Ranch. If you have the chance to come, it is really something to see. The people who own these cars bring them in and spend their day at Easton, and they’re doing that out of the kindness of their hearts. Seeing everything come together and watching the joy of visitors looking at the cars and interacting with our volunteers in support of The Buckeye Ranch is a truly special thing.

Other than Rally for the Ranch, are there other ways for people to help The Buckeye Ranch?

We are always accepting donations and have a few event volunteer opportunities throughout the year. We are still in need of volunteers for the car show, so if you’re interested, feel free to learn more here. Another great way for people to support The Buckeye Ranch is through the adopt a family program, which takes place in December. We help about 2,000 people in the community during the holiday season!
